Well, the first working-bee went off tremendously well, with about 20 vehicles per day, and more then 10 Km's of track cleared and tidied.
 The contracts between ARAC and DOC have been signed, and herald a new era for DOC, since this is the first time in the whole Country where a recreational group such as ARAC not only maintain the road, but are also the Permit Issuing authority.
All our Safety Policies and Plans have passed auditting against best practices, just to demonstarte that we are truly serious about safety in this magnificent back-country trail.
An inspection by the Department of Conservation roading engineer, was completed, and areas for attention identified. A working bee is scheduled for mid April 2004
